“Two of the nicest people you could
ever know,” noted Honorary Co-Chair Paul Winkler,
were feted at the 2008 Toast to Life Gala held November 8th
at the Westin Convention Center and Hotel. Two hundred and ten
supporters came out to congratulate and thank honorees Bill
Schmidt and Doug Miller for their
energetic and committed service to the mission of Family Hospice
and Palliative Care.
Tantalizing auction items, including an African safari, premier
sporting opportunities, and high-end art and jewelry had the
crowd abuzz, while music made for a lively dance floor.
Event Co-Chairs Eileen Pailey and Peggy
Westbrook and their diligent committee are to be
applauded for orchestrating an evening both elegant and fun.

Proceeds from the Toast to Life Gala continue to benefit
the thousands of patients and families served by this non-profit
hospice annually, including 200 families welcomed in the first
year of operations at The Center for Compassionate Care ®
in Mt. Lebanon, PA.
