Family Hospice and Palliative Care
offers an inpatient hospice facility, The Center for Compassionate
Care®, which provides two levels of care for the hospice
patient and caregivers: General Inpatient and Respite.
General Inpatient Care: Admission
to our inpatient hospice facility may be needed to control a
patient's pain or other symptoms. Our team's efforts are directed
toward the resolution of the symptoms that prompted the admission.
Generally, the stay is short-term.
Respite Care: Respite care provides for caregivers for up to
five days in this setting. |

The Center for Compassionate Care®
embodies Family Hospice and Palliative Care’s leadership
in the delivery of hospice and palliative care services and
its commitment to regional education, advocacy and training.
Main components of The Center
are an inpatient hospice facility and an education/conference
wing.
The Center for Compassionate Care’s® 12-bed inpatient
hospice facility, located in Mt. Lebanon, PA, provides round-the-clock
hospice care for patients experiencing complicated symptoms
or for caregivers in need of respite.
A highly skilled, specialized hospice team manages patients’
needs and the many concerns surrounding a life-limiting illness,
with an emphasis on personal dignity and quality of life.
Each patient has a tastefully appointed private room. A kitchen
and family room are available for family and friends. A library,
café and meditation garden are among the amenities. Patients
and families can share time together in spaces that reflect
the comforts of home, or find solace in private retreats..
Family members, friends and pets are welcome at any time.
